LORUS-2 A painting by Jim Thompson Digital 16x20 Lorus-2 is a generic name given as though this scene were a cataloged destination on some far out planet as yet unexplored and full of mysterious possibilities. The strange shapes littering the flat expanse in the foreground are actually live beings that inhabit the area and take millions of years to evolve. They slowly morph into larger sizes and shapes that gradually move over the landscape, deriving their sustenance from the soil they exist on. Like a kind of rock taffy, they developed so slowly it takes many eons to see even small changes or movements. When they mature they can grow to mountain size as seen in the background. They live out their lonely existence here in the pink glow of some nearby nebulous cloud in which is imbedded a diffused star with local planets. Art, Mind and SoulArtist and creator
